2 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (finger) is on the team's Wild-Card Series roster against the San Diego Padres this weekend. The Mets have also included rookie catcher Francisco Alvarez and outfielder/first baseman Darin Ruf (neck), while third baseman Mark Vientos was left off the roster. The 33-year-old Marte has been out for a month due to a fractured middle finger on his right hand, so it remains to be seen how much he'll actually play for the Mets in this series. Marte would be a huge boost for the offense if he's fully healthy, as he slashed a strong .292/.347/.468 with an .814 OPS, 16 home runs, 63 RBI, 76 runs scored and 18 stolen bases in 466 at-bats before his injury last month.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
