Starlin Castro Will Mostly Play Second Base
5 years agoWashington Nationals manager Dave Martinez said that infielder Starlin Castro will mostly play second base, while Howie Kendrick will mostly play first and second base in spring training. Castro and Kendrick could play some third base later this spring, but Carter Kieboom and Asdrubal Cabrera are expected to be the primary options at the hot corner. Despite Kendrick's heroics in the postseason last year, he'll mostly be a utility infielder for the Nats, limiting his fantasy appeal to mostly NL-only leagues. Castro hit .270 with a career-high 22 home runs and 86 RBI for the lowly Marlins in 2019. The contact-oriented second baseman should be more attractive in deep mixed and NL-only leagues on a better team.
