The Columbus Blue Jackets waived goalie Spencer Martin on Thursday. With the Jackets trying to give playing time to Daniil Tarasov and also having Elvis Merzlikins on the roster, Martin just didn't have a chance to get much playing time. Adding to that, Martin posted a subpar 3-8-1 record with a 3.65 GAA and .887 SV%. He could be claimed by a team that needs a backup, but in all likelihood, he will head to the AHL. The Blue Jackets are a mess again this year, and neither Merzlikins nor Tarasov gain much from this transaction. They should only be rostered in deep points leagues.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
