Spencer Jones Smashes Three More Home Runs on Thursday
Spencer Jones has been white hot at the plate during his time at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but he outdid himself on Thursday. The Yanks' fourth-ranked prospect homered in his first three plate appearances, finishing the day 3-for-5 with four RBI. The 6-foot-7 slugger is now hitting .400 (32-for-80) with 13 home runs and a 1.407 OPS in 19 games for the RailRiders, with six steals to boot. The former first-rounder is making the case for a major league debut, but we'll likely need to get past the trade deadline before we see him in New York. There's potential for a lot of strikeouts and low batting average in the majors, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues in need of some power production that have an NA slot to spare should consider stashing Jones ahead of his eventual call-up.
