Spencer Jones Records One Hit, Two Stolen Bases in Second Game Returning from Injury
Spencer Jones went 1-for-3 with a strikeout in his second game returning from a back spasms injury that held him out for a game. He appears to be just fine after going 2-for-4 with a double on Tuesday and swiping two bases tonight. The 6'7" lefty hitter has been crushing the ball in July, hitting .419/.477/.946 with 11 homers, seven steals, and a 9:20 BB:K ratio in 74 at-bats. The whiffs have still been at an untenable rate for the season, with a whopping 17.7 percent swinging strike rate and 66.8 percent contact rate. The power upside is undeniable, but there are still plenty of concerns with the hit tool. With how dominant he's been, however, there is a chance we see him in the majors at some point this season.
