1 year agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Sonny Gray has been told he's being demoted to the bullpen. The move comes as a surprise, though not completely unexpected. Gray was terrible in his last start, allowing seven runs to a Baltimore Orioles team that is pretty much devoid of strong talent. Gray had shown flashes this season, but at 8-8 with a 5.56 ERA, perhaps a demotion is what he needs to reset. That said, it remains to be seen how he will be used in the Yankees dominant bullpen, but consider his fantasy value gutted for now. Luis Cessa and newly-acquired Lance Lynn will probably take advantage of the open rotation spot going forward.--Mo Castillo - RotoBaller
