Sixto Sanchez Shut Down With Shoulder Discomfort
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Sixto Sanchez (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing after experiencing "slight discomfort" in his throwing shoulder. Sanchez hasn't pitched this year, but he'd been rehabbing from his shoulder injury without any setbacks until this one. Manager Don Mattingly didn't seem overly concerned when he spoke about Sixto, so this may indeed just be a minor setback. Assuming he recovers quickly, he will reportedly continue his rehab from where he left off (throwing bullpen sessions) and will not have to start the entire rehab process from the beginning. Still, there are now some doubts surfacing about whether Sixto will even pitch at the big league level in 2021.
