Shoto Imanaga Officially Posted
1 year agoDeNA Baystars left-hander Shoto Imanaga of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan was officially posted for major-league teams on Monday. He will be eligible to meet with MLB teams once the league approves his posting. The 30-year-old southpaw will then have 45 days to agree to a deal with a team in the United States. He won't be as popular as fellow Japanese start Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but Imanaga is viewed as a potential middle-of-the-rotation arm for major-league teams this winter. Imanaga had a strong 2.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 24 walks and 188 strikeouts in 159 innings for the Baystars this year. He is expected to receive a deal of around four or five years in length this offseason.
