Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Shelby Miller (elbow) threw a 60-pitch simulated game on Tuesday, and the team wants to get him into a game against the Padres to close out the regular season this weekend. Miller has made exactly eight starts in the last two seasons because of arm injuries, and he had posted an ugly 11.40 ERA and 2.07 WHIP with an 11.4 K/9 before being shut down in early July.
