4 years agoThe Cincinnati Bengals are optimistic that safety Shawn Williams (calf) could be back by Week 1 after he was carted off this week at practice with a calf injury. Defensive tackle Renell Wren (quadriceps) suffered a significant quad injury in practice on Monday and is seeking a second opinion as to whether he will need season-ending surgery. The 29-year-old Williams is a key piece of the team's secondary, having recorded a career-high 114 combined tackles last year. Williams also had one sack, one interception and three passes defensed. If healthy in 2020, he'll be in play as a low-end IDP starting defensive back.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
