Seranthony Dominguez Avoids Surgery For Now
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez (elbow) will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection after visiting with Dr. James Andrews and will avoid Tommy John surgery for now. The right-hander will be re-evaluated in three weeks and a best-case scenario will have him resume throwing in four to six weeks. Philly's bullpen has been one of the most beat up in the majors, with Dominguez, David Robertson, Pat Neshek and Tommy Hunter all on the injured list. Hector Neris has been locking down the ninth inning with Juan Nicasio pitching in a setup role. Dominguez was 3-0 with a 4.01 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 29 K's in 24 2/3 innings and didn't have much fantasy appeal to begin with since he wasn't pitching in save situations at all.
