New York Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov had a big 40-save performance against Boston on Thursday, grabbing his first win of the season with a 3-1 result. The Russian netminder missed the start of the season with an injury and the team then went through a horrible losing streak, and thus Varlamov has struggled to get into the win column. He's now 1-5-1 for the year with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. The 33-year-old was very close to his first shutout as well on Thursday, with Mike Reilly scoring only inside the final minute of play.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
