Sean Mannion Expected To Start Against Packers
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings backup quarterback Sean Mannion is expected to come off the Reserve/COVID-19 list and start on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers, according to a source. Starter Kirk Cousins, who is unvaccinated, tested positive for COVID on Friday and has been ruled out for Week 17. The Vikings also have Kellen Mond and Kyle Sloter on the active roster, but they are electing to go with Mannion, who hasn't played in an NFL game since 2019. He's made just two starts in his career. Needless to say, fantasy managers will need to downgrade all of Minnesota's pass-catchers with Cousins sidelined. The Vikings will likely lean more on their ground game for as long as they can in this one. Mannion will purely be a desperation QB2 option in superflex leagues this weekend.
