Sean Manaea Suffers Setback
5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea (oblique, side), who was set to make a rehab start on Tuesday, has been shut down with soreness in his right side. However, Manaea said he doesn't think the injury is very serious. The left-hander is trying to return from shoulder surgery last September on a torn labrum. He threw 60 pitches in a simulated game in Arizona last Thursday and is eager to pitch in a real game. He should help replace the suspended Frankie Montas in the second half of the season and can be a real asset in mixed leagues for anyone looking for pitching help. Stash him now if you have the room for another arm.
