Seahawks Expected To Take Quarterback In First Round
2 years agoESPN draft analyst Todd McShay has a strong sense that the Seattle Seahawks won't leave Round 1 of this week's draft without a quarterback. McShay thinks Seattle could be targeting Ohio State's C.J. Stroud or Florida's Anthony Richardson at No. 5 overall, depending on who is still available. The idea is that either Stroud or Richardson could sit behind Geno Smith in the short term. If both players are gone, McShay thinks the Seahawks will go with either Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. or Texas Tech edge rusher Tyree Wilson. Multiple sources say that Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter isn't expected to be the pick. If Seattle doesn't take a QB at No. 5, they could go with Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker at No. 20 overall.
