Seahawks Expect To Re-Sign Geno Smith
2 years agoWhen asked if the Seattle Seahawks are expected to re-sign impending free-agent quarterback Geno Smith this offseason, general manager John Schneider said, "Yeah, we do." Smith had a Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2022 and led Seattle to the playoffs in the first year after the team traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. In addition to Smith, the Seahawks would like to re-sign backup Drew Lock. Smith beat out Lock for the starting job in the preseason and ended up starting all 17 regular season games as a starting QB for the first time since 2014. He finished with 30 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a league-high 69.8% completion percentage. If the 32-year-old returns to Seattle as the starter in 2023, he'll be in play as a high-end backup in fantasy.
