Seahawks, Carlos Dunlap Agree To Reworked Contract
4 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks and defensive end Carlos Dunlap agreed to a reworked contract as part of his trade from the Bengals, according to ESPN's Field Yates. The restructure will give Seattle some salary cap relief and offers Dunlap a path to free agency after the 2020 season. The 31-year-old was making $7.8 million in base salary this year and the Seahawks would have owed him roughly $4.59 million for the rest of the season. He's now scheduled to be owed $2 million for the rest of the year and has a $3 million roster bonus due on the fifth day of the 2021 league calendar. Dunlap is under contract through 2021 and is scheduled to make a non-guaranteed $10.1 million in base salary next year. More of a rotational pass-rusher at this point in his career, Dunlap isn't on the radar in IDP leagues.
