New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not travel with the club for their two-game road trip that begins in Dallas on Monday and ends in Detroit on Thursday. The rugged blueliner has also been sidelined for multiple games with both lower and upper-body injuries earlier in the season. He did not participate in Saturday's 4-2 home loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 31-year-old is in his 10th NHL season, all with the Islanders, and has five assists, 70 hits, 106 blocked shots, 35 penalty minutes, and a minus-seven rating across 41 games on the season. He recorded a career-high six goals and 24 points while skating in all 82 games a season ago.--Brenton Kemp
