Sandy Alcantara Snags Fourth Win
Sandy Alcantara allowed six hits and three earned runs over six innings in his team's 5-3 win against the visiting Atlanta Braves. He walked two and struck out four to notch his fourth quality start and third over his last four outings. After a woeful first few months, Alcantara has turned it around in June, pitching to a 2.74 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 23 innings (four starts) with a 19:5 K:BB ratio. While it may be too early to tell if he's regaining his pre-elbow injury form, it's undoubtedly nice to see him bring his walk rate down, as he racked up 13 and 12 in April and May, respectively. He'll square off against a strong Arizona Diamondbacks squad later this week on the road.
