Mike Yastrzemski Comes Up Big In Tenth Inning Against New York Mets
7 months agoThe San Francisco Giants plated five runs in the top of the tenth inning Saturday in a 7-2 win against the New York Mets. A bases-loaded clearing triple by veteran outfielder Mike Yastrzemski was the big blow in the inning. Yastrzemski is hitting .224 with five home runs, 18 RBI, and 16 runs scored in 134 plate appearances this year. Interestingly, beleaguered closer Edwin Diaz pitched the ninth inning and gave up two hits and a run, blowing his fourth save of the year. Sean Reid-Foley then surrendered the five runs in the following inning, although none of them were earned runs. Luke Jackson earned the win for the Giants and Camilo Doval pitched the tenth in a non-save situation.
