Sammy Watkins Plans To Play In 2020
5 years agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins said that he plans to play in 2020, but that he might need some down time after winning the Super Bowl this year and having a deep playoff run with the Chiefs last year. "I'm really focused on my health....mental health," Watkins said. The former first-round pick of the Bills is a candidate for a pay cut if he wants to remain in Kansas City, as he's owed $14 million in 2020. If the Chiefs were to move on, they'd take only $7 million dead salary cap money. Given Watkins' subpar regular season play the last two years, the Chiefs are more likely to trade or release Watkins. But it's clear that he has no intentions of retiring. Wherever Watkins is playing in 2020, he'll be a boom-or-bust WR4/flex for fantasy owners.
