6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes right wing Saku Maenalanen racked up two goals with a plus-2 rating on four shots with a blocked shot and two hits over 10:52 of ice time across 18 shifts in Tuesday's 6-2 road loss against the New York Rangers. It was his first multi-goal game in the NHL, and he has lit the lamp three times over the past two outings. The former fifth-round draft pick in 2013 by the Nashville Predators is just 24 years old and he has been showing some silky mitts in his early days in Raleigh. The Hurricanes could have just mined a nice gem, and he is playing well enough to draw the fantasy attention of those in deeper pools.--Daniel Dobish
