Saivion Smith Suffers Broken Hand
4 years agoDallas Cowboys cornerback Saivion Smith (hand), who impressed in coverage in the Week 14 win over the Bengals, suffered a broken hand midway through the game but came back in and played, according to a source. Smith may not miss the Week 15 contest against the 49ers. The 23-year-old went undrafted in 2019 before latching on with the Jaguars and then the Cowboys. In the first six games of his NFL career this season, Smith has only three tackles, but he played a season-high 85 percent of the defensive snaps against the Bengals after having not played more than 17 percent of the snaps in any other game this year. Dallas' D will need Smith and the rest of the secondary to step up again in Week 15 to slow down San Francisco receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel.
