Saints Hoping To Get Juwan Johnson Back In Week 8
1 year agoNew Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen said he hopes to get tight end Juwan Johnson (calf) back for the Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Johnson suffered a calf injury during warmups before the Week 4 contest and hasn't practiced or played since. If Johnson returns to practice this week, it will be a pretty clear indication that he's close to returning for the Saints on game days. Taysom Hill has mostly benefitted from Johnson's absence, as has Foster Moreau. The 27-year-old Johnson should be New Orleans' top pass-catching tight end when he's back healthy, but he's still really nothing more than a TE2 streamer based on matchups. Before his injury, Johnson caught seven of 12 targets for 61 yards and no touchdowns in three games.
