Ryan Waldschmidt Homers in Third Straight Game
Ryan Waldschmidt went 2-for-4 on Tuesday for High-A Hillsboro, walking once and homering in his third consecutive contest. The home run was a solo shot, and the 22-year-old also scored twice. The performance pushed his season-long slash line to .277/.434/.477 with nine home runs and seven steals, while his 51 runs scored lead the Northwest League and his 39 RBI are tied for the most in that category. The 31st-overall draft pick in the 2024 draft is also walking more than he's striking out, posting a 47:43 BB:K. It doesn't appear that he's overmatched at this level, so a few more weeks of hitting like this and he should be on his way to Double-A Amarillo.
