Ryan Mountcastle Going For Imaging Thursday
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) said his left shoulder is feeling "not great" after leaving the game on Wednesday early against the St. Louis Cardinals, and there is some concern about his injury. He's hopeful that it will feel better on Thursday, but he'll undergo imaging tests to make sure after feeling a pop on a swing in the first inning. It doesn't sound great, and it's likely why the Orioles are calling up first base prospect Heston Kjerstad to the big-league roster. We'll have a better timetable on Mountcastle after the results of his imaging come back, but this sounds like an injury that could potentially end the 26-year-old's season. Mountcastle came into Wednesday's contest hitting .269/.325/.453 with 18 home runs, 67 RBI, three steals and 63 runs scored in his 413 at-bats in 2023.
