7/29:Colorado Rockies first baseman Ryan McMahon was called up Sunday morning and is starting at first base and batting sixth. McMahon has some potential as a prospect with a career .297 average in the minors with decent power and speed. However, he has yet to realize that potential in the majors. McMahon was up with the Rockies earlier this season and was sent down after posting a .211 average and .620 OPS. Also, with Ian Desmond playing so well as of late, playing time will be a concern for McMahon as well. For now, it's safe to leave him on the waiver wire until he shows signs that he will stick around.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
