Royce Lewis Goes On Injured List
1 year agoThe Minnesota Twins placed infielder Royce Lewis (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with a left-hamstring strain and recalled outfielder Jordan Luplow from the minors in a corresponding move. Lewis injured his hamstring on Tuesday and will now miss the conclusion of the 2023 regular season. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old will be back in time for the start of the postseason. The former first overall pick in 2017 has dealt with his fair share of injuries, but he was dynamic when on the field for Minnesota this year, hitting .309/.372/.548 with a .921 OPS, 15 home runs (four grand slams), 52 RBI, six stolen bases and 36 runs scored in 217 at-bats. Carlos Correa (foot) is also currently sidelined, so Kyle Farmer will handle the 6 and Willi Castro will handle third base for the Twins moving forward.
