The San Diego Padres are trying to re-sign infielder/outfielder Jurickson Profar, but the Kansas City Royals are also in play for him. Profar will be just 28 years old in February and had a solid slash line of .278/.343/.428 in the shortened 2020 season. On top of it, he's a switch-hitter and provides defensive versatility with experience at every position except catcher and pitcher. Fellow free-agent utilityman Kike Hernandez has attracted similar attention after helping the Dodgers to a World Series title last season. Profar was once the top prospect in baseball when he came up with the Rangers, but he never lived up to those expectations and also missed time with injuries. He is prone to hot and cold streaks, which can make him difficult to roster in fantasy, but his positional versatility also makes him a nice piece for roster flexibility.--Keith HernandezRead More News
