Rowdy Tellez Breaks Finger, Out Another 3-4 Weeks
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers first baseman Rowdy Tellez (finger, forearm) will be out another three to four weeks at minimum after breaking the tip of his ring finger on his throwing hand before Saturday's game while shagging fly balls in the outfield. He required 17 stitches for a torn nail bed. Tellez went on the injured list with right-forearm inflammation, but he was set to return early next week before suffering a broken finger on Saturday night. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues must now wait longer for the 28-year-old left-handed slugger to return. Tellez offers very little besides some modest power from the first base position, as he's currently hitting .213 (55-for-258) with 12 home runs and 36 RBI this year. Owen Miller should see plenty of playing time at the cold corner in Milwaukee until Tellez is able to return.
