2 years agoAfter narrowly missing the cut at the Memorial Tournament, Rory McIlroy surged over the weekend with rounds of 64 and 69 to an eventual eighth-place finish. Facing the prospect of missing his second straight cut, McIlroy used three back-nine birdies on Friday to make weekend play on the number. McIlroy will head to Shinnecock Hills in two weeks, the site of this year's U.S. Open, where he is currently the second betting favorite. If he can avoid the one bad round that has plagued him most of the season, he will have a chance to win his fifth major and second U.S. Open title.--Chris Mangano - RotoBaller
