Former Jacksonville Jaguars free-agent cornerback Ronald Darby signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal on Monday with the Houston Texans, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move comes after the Texans made cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. the highest-paid defensive back in the NFL early in the day. Darby spent the 2024 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and had 46 tackles (36 solo) and nine pass breakups in 13 games (12 starts). The 31-year-old veteran has played with three different teams (Jaguars, Ravens, Broncos) in the last three years and is now on his seventh different NFL team in his 11 years in the league. He's unlikely to have a starting role in Houston, but he'll provide veteran leadership and defense for the Texans in 2025. Darby was selected in the second round (50th overall) by the Buffalo Bills in 2015 out of Florida State and won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles.--Keith Hernandez
