RJ Barrett Comes Through With 30 Points
2 years agoNew York Knicks small forward RJ Barrett stood out with a 30-point performance in Friday's 121-112 win over Detroit, adding five rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes. He posted only one turnover and shot 10-for-17 from the field with a 3-for-8 record from beyond the arc. Barrett improved his season-best by three points, and he's now sitting on a 20.2 points per game scoring average after 12 games. It appears that Barrett doesn't want to come out of his comfort zone, as his current numbers in all three major categories are almost identical to the ones he ended up having last season. He's getting 5.8 rebounds per game with 3.1 assists. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old does very little on the defensive end and this limits his fantasy value. His shooting numbers aren't pretty either, although Barrett has done decently so far this month, hitting 48 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from downtown.
