Riley Greene's Rehab Assignment Pushed Back To Thursday
4 months agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene (hamstring), who is currently recovering from a right-hamstring strain, completed another base-running session at Comerica Park on Tuesday and is scheduled to start a minor-league rehab assignment with the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens on Thursday. Greene was initially slated to start his rehab assignment on Tuesday, but apparently the Tigers wanted to get another look at him running the bases before giving him the final green light to play in games again. The 23-year-old first-time All-Star could rejoin the Tigers' starting lineup later this weekend or early next week, barring any setbacks with his hammy. The former fifth overall pick in 2019 has already played in a career-high 101 games in 2024 and has provided fantasy managers with 17 homers, 51 RBI and four steals in 427 trips to the plate while hitting .264 (98-for-371).
