Reds Outright Matt Reynolds To Minors
2 years agoCincinnati Reds infielder Matt Reynolds cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Reynolds has the option to decline the outright assignment and become a free agent after he was designated for assignment last Friday to make room on the 40-man roster for right-hander Luke Weaver. The 32-year-old will simply serve as organizational infield depth for the Reds if he remains in the organization. Reynolds spent 2022 with the Reds and New York Mets, hitting .246/.320/.332 with a .652 OPS, three home runs, 23 RBI, 31 runs scored and five stolen bases in 272 plate appearances and 93 games (only one with the Mets).
