Red Wings Set To Buy Out Kailer Yamamoto
1 year agoDetroit Red Wings winger Kailer Yamamoto has been placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout just one day after the team acquired him from the Edmonton Oilers. Yamamoto arrived alongside Klim Kostin in exchange for future considerations, but he's now set for unrestricted free agency, with Detroit buying out the final year of his contract that came with a $3.1 million cap hit. The former first-round pick struggled to make an impact offensively with the Oilers, recording only 50 goals and 118 points in 244 appearances. He settled for 10 goals and 25 points in 58 games last season.
