4 years agoThe Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies are among at least six teams showing interest in free-agent utility man Marwin Gonzalez, according to sources. The 31-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Twins and has made 100-plus appearances at five positions -- first base, second base, third base, shortstop and left field -- in his career. Gonzalez has a .729 career OPS and has an OPS of .759 or lower in every season except for 2017 (.907). He's also a switch-hitter and can provide positional flexibility in both real life and for fantasy managers. Gonzalez could be used as a left-handed complement to Bobby Dalbec at first base in Boston. He hit just .211/.286/.320 with five home runs in 175 at-bats in 2020, making him a target for bench depth late in deep mixed and AL/NL-only leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
