The Boston Red Sox announced on Tuesday that they have hired Andrew Bailey as their new pitching coach at the major-league level. The 39-year-old served as the pitching coach for the San Francisco Giants for the last four seasons after two years with the Los Angeles Angels as their bullpen coach and coaching assistant and video-replay coordinator. While in San Francisco, the team's pitchers ranked sixth in baseball with a 3.80 ERA while allowing the fewest home runs (525) and posting the third-highest strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.16). Giants pitchers issued the fewest walks in the league last year with 403. Bailey pitched in 265 big-league games before becoming a coach over eight seasons, including 49 games with the Red Sox from 2012-13. He was a two-time All-Star in each of his first two seasons in 2009-10.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
