2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox recalled left-handed pitching prospect Chris Murphy from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday and optioned pitcher Kaleb Ort to the minors in a corresponding move. Murphy, who is listed by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 14 prospect, will initially work out of Boston's bullpen, which won't make him attractive to fantasy managers in redraft leagues. The 25-year-old southpaw could eventually make a spot start, but he currently has a rough 7.71 ERA, 1.92 WHIP, 25 walks and 42 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings over 10 appearances (nine starts) for Worcester. Murphy has the upside of a back-end starter in the big leagues, and he relies mostly on a four-seam fastball and changeup to get hitters out.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
