The Tampa Bay Rays selected East Forsyth Senior High School first baseman Xavier Isaac with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft on Sunday. Isaac possesses top-end power from the left side for a high school hitter at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds due to his power and excellent bat speed. Isaac lets his power come naturally and focuses more on hard contact. Some teams probably viewed him as too big of a risk in the first round after he missed most of the 2021 season and most of last summer's circuit. There's huge upside in his bat, but the 18-year-old must focus on his conditioning now that he's a professional ballplayer. If his bat struggles, there won't be anything else that can carry him to the major league level.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
