8 months agoThe Tampa Bay Rays have reached out to shortstop Willy Adames and pitching prospect Brent Honeywell about potential long-term contract extensions. Honeywell was approached after he had Tommy John surgery. This comes after the Rays inked long-term deals for ace Blake Snell and utility man Brandon Lowe this spring. Tampa is looking to the future and trying to secure their star young players for the long run. Honeywell is only a stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues, but Adames is the starting shortstop and is hoping to improve on his .278/.348/.406 slash line with 10 homers and 34 RBI in his first 85 major league games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
