Ravens Won't Give Extra Attention To Ja'Marr Chase
3 years agoBaltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Wink Martindale said that they will not double/triple team Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase in Week 16 like they did for Packers receiver Davante Adams in Week 15. "Adams is one of the top two receivers in the league and he's not No. 2. Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Fame QB, and I don't think we're ready to buy a gold jacket for Joe (Burrow)," Martindale said. That's fair, but the Packers also don't have the kind of complementary WRs that the Bengals possess in Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. Chase hasn't disappointed as a first-round pick, leading the Bengals in catches (61), targets (102), receiving yards (1.038) and touchdowns (10). Chase is a locked-in WR with WR1 upside, and he might make Martindale eat his words this Sunday. The youngster had eight catches for a season-high 201 yards and a touchdown in the first meeting with Baltimore in Week 7.
