Rashaad Penny Records Huge Run, Sprains Ankle
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny started Thursday night off with a highlight-reel run that will follow him for the rest of his career. Initially bottled up behind the line of scrimmage on the right-hand side of the offense, Penny churned, cut, and spun his way all the way back to the left side and out of harm's way to rumble for 28 yards before spinning to the turf. It was an incredible show of persistence and great reminder of the potential the rookie has, but it ended on a sour note as Penny sprained his ankle during the take down. Penny would initially leave the field, but he returned later for 17 more snaps. Unfortunately, he didn't look the same and only gained eight more yards on seven more carries. With JD McKissic and CJ Prosise returning, Penny's already hairy playing time situation will likely get worse, and the injury could put him out of commission for a while.
