Randy Arozarena's Legal Issues Behind Him
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena, who was arrested in Mexico last November following a dispute with the mother of his daughter, was released with no charges filed, and general manager Erik Neander said it's the team's understanding that Arozarena would not be disciplined by the league. The soon-to-be 26-year-old had a historic tear in the postseason last year, setting major league records for hits, home runs and total bases in a single postseason. He slashed .377/.442/.831 with 10 homers, 14 RBI and 19 runs scored. Arozarena also hit .281/.382/.641 in the regular season, and he has the skills to post a 20 homers and 20 steals over a full season. His incredible postseason could vault him into the top 25 outfielders in fantasy drafts. Arozarena has the tools to be a solid outfielder, but don't pay an exorbitant price for his unrepeatable postseason.
