Randal Grichuk On Yankees Radar
1 year agoThe New York Yankees are leaning toward being buyers at this year's trade deadline, and Colorado Rockies outfielder Randal Grichuk is currently on their radar, according to a person with knowledge of the team's personnel decisions. The Yanks are currently 2.5 games out of the third and final wild-card position after a win over the New York Mets on Wednesday. Team executives don't envision adding much, as they sit at $295 million on the luxury tax payroll, and they don't expect to trade their best prospects in outfielders Jasson Dominguez and Everson Pereira. They're interested in adding someone who could play left field and provide an offensive impact, and Grichuk has been on their radar because he won't cost much. New York has also been connected to the Cardinals' Dylan Carlson and the Cubs' Cody Bellinger.
