Alaric Jackson Suspended For First Two Games
4 months agoLos Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2024 season for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy. He will be eligible to return on September 16, following the Rams' Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams' offensive line is already facing challenges, with left guard Jonah Jackson (bruised scapula) missing most of training camp and right tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle) injured. Joe Noteboom is expected to fill in for Jackson during his suspension. Noteboom, who signed a three-year, $40 million extension to return to the Rams in 2022, was previously beaten out for the starting left tackle position by Jackson. Jackson, who started 15 games and a playoff game at left tackle last season, has been the Rams' primary left tackle for most of the past two seasons since Andrew Whitworth's retirement, though he missed half of the 2022 season with blood clots. He rejoined the Rams on a one-year contract this season after signing his restricted free agent tender for $4.89 million and is set to become a free agent after this season. The ongoing issues with the Rams' offensive line could be a red flag for those considering drafting Rams players early in fantasy drafts.
