Raiders, Josh Jacobs Not Expected To Agree On Long-Term Deal
1 year agoIt's looking more and more likely that the Las Vegas Raiders and running back Josh Jacobs won't come to terms on a long-term contract extension by Monday's deadline to sign franchise-tagged players to extensions. Jacobs has yet to sign the $10.09 million franchise tender and has already sent word that he won't show up for training camp this month if he doesn't have a new deal. However, it's unlikely that a holdout would drag into the regular season, but it's still a negative development for the NFL's rushing leader in 2022. The 25-year-old hasn't said how much money he's looking for, but he likely wants somewhere around $26 to $32 million in full guarantees. Jacobs should still be considered at least a midrange RB1 in fantasy, but his stock continues to fall despite surprising everyone with his league-leading rushing performance a year ago.
