Rafael Devers Doubles, Collects RBI In Giants Debut Tuesday
Rafael Devers wasted no time contributing to his new team in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Guardians. Batting third, Devers went 2-for-5 with a single, a double, an RBI, and two strikeouts. The 28-year-old was traded from the Red Sox on Sunday and, while there was drama around what position he would play in Boston, it was announced Tuesday that Devers will eventually slot in at first base for the Giants. This will give him multi-position eligibility this season at the corner infield positions, providing even more fantasy value. Devers has delivered his usual high-end offensive numbers so far, slashing .274/.401/.505 with 15 home runs and 59 RBI in 339 plate appearances.
