Major League Baseball and the Players Association met for less than an hour on Saturday, and there remains no deal on a new collective bargaining agreement. The players came out of the meeting unimpressed by the offer from the league, and there's very little progress made between the two sides in negotiations. The league proposed a slight rise in the luxury tax threshold, but there's still quite a gap. MLB also proposed a rise in minimum salaries with two options. One option is flat pay at $630,000 with raises possible, and the other $615,000, $650,000 and then $725,000 (up from $700K) with fixed salaries on the tiered option. The minimum salary in 2021 was $570,000. Despite what commissioner Rob Manfred said on Thursday, spring training won't be starting on time next week. There is still a long way to go.--Keith Hernandez
