Pirates Claim Miguel Andujar Off Waivers From Yankees
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates claimed infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar off waivers from the New York Yankees on Sunday. The Yankees designated Andujar for assignment last Thursday and will now land with a new organization to close out the 2022 season. Andujar has spent most of his time this year in the minor leagues, hitting .285/.330/.487 with an .817 OPS, 13 home runs, 51 RBI, 42 runs scored and five stolen bases in 71 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He played in just 27 games with the Yanks, going 22-for-96 (.229) with a homer, eight RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases. The 27-year-old Dominican should have a better chance of sticking in the big leagues with Pittsburgh.
