Pirates Claim Miguel Andujar Off Waivers From Yankees
Miguel Andujar off waivers from the New York Yankees on Sunday. The Yankees designated Andujar for assignment last Thursday and will now land with a new organization to close out the 2022 season. Andujar has spent most of his time this year in the minor leagues, hitting .285/.330/.487 with an .817 OPS, 13 home runs, 51 RBI, 42 runs scored and five stolen bases in 71 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He played in just 27 games with the Yanks, going 22-for-96 (.229) with a homer, eight RBI, nine runs scored and four stolen bases. The 27-year-old Dominican should have a better chance of sticking in the big leagues with Pittsburgh.
